A speculative redesign that opened the door.

I came across a LinkedIn post looking for a web designer to work on an extension of The Culture Codex called The House Media. Instead of sending a portfolio and waiting, I designed a proposed direction for the website, built it in Framer, and reached out directly. The response was immediate. The founder said the work “blew away” 120+ responses they had received.

The Pitch

I designed the opportunity before being hired.

The first version was created specifically as a pitch. I focused on giving The House a distinct digital identity that felt bold, editorial, and built around the idea of media that moves culture.

Idea → Design → Framer → Pitch

Iteration

The first version got the conversation started.

After the initial pitch, we moved into a call and started refining the direction together. V2 explored those conversations through changes to the layout, messaging, visual hierarchy, and overall feel of the experience.

Outcome

Turning a pitch into a polished brand experience.

The final direction brought the iterations together into a complete landing page covering the brand story, services, selected work, testimonials, and a strong conversion-focused CTA.

Takeaway

Sometimes the best way to apply is to build the idea first.

This project reinforced something I keep coming back to: showing what you can do is often more powerful than telling someone you can do it. A LinkedIn job post became a real conversation because I didn’t just apply. I made the pitch tangible.
